I am building a large scale static display model of the Minuteman II ICBM. I will be using miniature machine screws to simulate the area where the rocket motors join the interstages.
I know that screws near the size I need are expressed as 00-80, 4-40, 8-32, etc. My problem is that I am not concerned with the thread pitch or diameter of the screw, I need to know how big the head of the screw is to stay in scale.
For example I know that a 1" head diameter actual size is about 3/64" to 1/16" scale size.
How do I determine the head size from the given size?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael
