Hi, I was hoping to find a materials engineer to help me with a project. Any help is appreciated! I have a 5.5 mm major diameter titanium cannulated screw with a minor diameter of 4.0. The shaft has a 1 mm thickness. I want to place 2 port holes on the side of the screw in the shank . These 2 port holes will accept locking screws to add stability of the screw. These locking screws will be perpendicular to the main screw. What is the max size of these port holes that can withstand forces placed on it by a heavy animal (70 -100 kgs)? thank you mike mmessieh@aol.com
