I have just designed the tool that will be made from 6061 T6 al. The square tube will have more then a couple of plates, which have to be welded to the tube. The question is Do I have to call out for stress relieving after that? And what spec. might show this process? I could not find anything. I actually found the spec for the heat treatment but I doubt that it is a right way. Thank you.

Shear wall design started in the late 50's and early 60's, plywood or other type material walls were used as a load bearing alternates to diagonally braced wall sections. Great care should be taken when modifying this sort of structural member.
