Interesting question, I looked in my "Kent's" ME book (published 1953) and Morse Tapers where specified by ASA B5.10-1943. The 1943 was the year the taper spec. came out. The taper specifications are identical to the spec's given in my machinery's book (23rd Edition, 1988). Do you realy need to change from the standard? Been around a long time ...
