I have been trying to size the actuator for a solar tracker, but I am not getting how to proceed with the calculation. Please have look at the attached file and let me know your ideas for solving the problem.
You will have to go thru the drive train and calculate the individual loads along the load path, simple engineering. But it would seem to me that you are omitting what is probably the biggest load factor of all which will be the wind load.
