I am trying to cut a piece of unfired ceramic, although I am not sure the material matters, with a rassor blade mounted in a fixture with a cutting edge at 22 degrees from the horizontal, guillotine style if you will. Problem I have is I cannot make a perpendicular cut. I have the part I believe well supported but I just cannot get a good perpendicular cut. It always tapers off. I am using a .009" think blade and have ordered a .012 think thinking that perhaps the blade is flexing or getting pushed away. Any thoughts?

I will see what I can do as far as getting a picture.
If you are trying to slice the material in thin cuts, the bevel on the blade will force the blade to flex toward the thin piece. If you have substantial material on both sides, any particles harder than the surrounding particles will force the blade to flex toward the softer side. Using a rotating blade will help in both situations.
