Can GD&T be applied to Plastic products since it has curved profiles and no flat surface to create datum reference. if yes can you tell how it is done

The way I used to handle arbitrary curves is to supply a CAD file with the desired curve to which the GDT tolerances applied. This was covered in a note on the drawing. Later on we supplied the whole CAD model and the drawing only conveyed the tolerances with the note specifying that the model was the controlling document for dimensions. I've been retired for a couple of years now and I'll bet these day for molded parts the CAD file is always the controlling document.
