Hi Everyone,
I'm wondering can someone help me out with a fixture design. I need to lasermark batches of 25 drill bits, 5mm OD and 80mm. The laser source is mounted vertically, therefore the parts are marked in a horizontal position. The tolerance on lasermark positioning is 0.008". I would like to have a fixture to hold 25 parts, and ensure the tight tolerance is achieved. Parts have to lay flat on fixture. I was thinking of having one end of part against a deadstop. Question is, how do I ensure parts are always seated against the deadatop. I was thinking of using a spring loaded mechanism to push on the drill tip so the other end is always against the deadstop but the drill edges cannot be damaged in anyway. Is there any other way of holding these parts so the tolerance can be achieved.
Thank you
