Hello
I hope im not in the wrong area. I am in the process of leveling floor joists in my 100 year old house.
The issue is, when I jack the beam up it is being pushed into the floor joists as I lift. It is pressing in about .250" so far. I don't like whats going on so I decided to make some inquiries.
The old joists are 2x8 pine and the beam im using is 2x8 pine, doubled, glued and screwed together. The span is about 14 feet. Ive got permanent 4" round columns with saddle plates on each end and one in the center. Footings under all 3.
If im not in the right area maybe someone would be kind enough to point me in the right direction. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
