We are working on a project that is using an absolute encoder that is communicating via Biss-C protocol. I am trying to come up with a way to view and record multi turn encoder position in a "degrees/minutes/seconds" format (seconds not really necessary). The encoder has been calibrated using an IC-Haus MB5U interface but I can go no further with the evaluation software. Does anyone know of a processor/software that might be able to accomplish this? Thank you in advance for your time.
BiSS-C allows the simultaneous transmission of position data and the control data over the same line. BiSS-C is hardware compatible with the SSI. Though position encoders typically provide the feedback-position data of motors, this encoder allows closed-loop control of motors.
