Screen Filters Review
Screen filters are a type of filtration component that utilizes a rigid or flexible screen element to separate or filter sand and other fine particles from air or water for irrigation applications. Screen filters are not used for filtering organic matter, such as algae as these types of contaminants normally clog the filter when a significant pressure drop occurs across the filter.
Other applications for screen filters include consumer and industrial clothing dryers to filter out lint and other loose fibers, These filters are often used as a large particle filter within other systems, such as oil and other fluid strainers.
Additionally, screen filters ar not considered large volume or capacity mediums in that these filters will not trap large amounts of contaminants as other filter technologies will. Most screen filters are fabricated from: stainless steel (Mesh), polypropylene, and nylon.
