I am looking for a better solution for machining the slit in a range of hardened collets (Dimension D). At the moment we are mounting the collet in a vice and grinding the slit using a small pneumatic grinder. The process is effective but time consuming and results in a finishing operation to remove fine burrs. I am looking for any ideas to cut multiple collets or any UK engineering companies that would be better suited to this job

Look into laser technology. You can make multiple parts with good accuracy. |
