I am in the early stages of designing a plastic part and I want to know if the mold will be overly expensive. The part is shown on the left side of the attached sketch and I imagine the face of the mold will look something like the image on the right side of the sketch. I know that it costs more to build a mold with a slider but I need to know if it is practical for the slider to rotate along the centerline of the part as per the sketch. Also, will the slider have to have draft built into it to function properly, if so what is the minimum draft that would work. The size of the part will be about 4.5" long and the part is to be made from ABS in the form of a tube 1/4" O/D x 1/8"+/- I/D.
