Merger makes Liaison Technologies the world's largest papiNetŪ XML hub ATLANTA - December 14, 2005 - Liaison Technologies today announced that it has completed the operational merger with the leading European paper industry e-commerce and supply-chain provider, Expresso Paper Platform BV ("Expresso"). Moving forward, the unified company will operate globally as Liaison Technologies. The papiNet XML mapping and translation functionality acquired through the transaction has been fully integrated into Liaison Technologies' Data Exchange Platform and related Master Data-Management solutions. In addition, all customers have been migrated to Liaison Technologies. A long-time provider of real-time solutions and services to the global paper industry, Liaison Technologies is now the world's largest provider of an integrated papiNet XML hub solution. The combination of Liaison Technologies' real-time network technology with Expresso's advanced data mapping and translation solutions permits customers to manage the full lifecycle of product information and end-to-end real-time messaging through a single, fully integrated solution. The newly integrated papiNet XML mapping and translation functionality rounds out Liaison's B2B offerings aimed at improving the paper industry supply chain with both financial and delivery-time benefits for the supplier and the customer. The improved efficiency is achieved by using standards and sophisticated business algorithms that cross-reference catalog content and data attributes to translate orders to the exact language and specifications used by each party. This solution facilitates rapid business change, as well as, addressing industry specific supply chain challenges such as the automation of "Indent Orders" (orders placed with a paper merchant and fulfilled/delivered directly by the paper manufacturer). "With a successful business combination now behind us and the expected operational efficiencies achieved, Liaison is in an excellent position to provide a comprehensive set of cost competitive B2B services to the global paper and forest products industry", said Bob Renner, chief executive officer of Liaison Technologies. "The completion of this merger and the migration of customers and technology onto a unified platform is a huge step in delivering on our commitment to provide innovative and cost competitive technology services to the world's paper industry." Since 2000, Liaison Technologies has provided business-to-business connectivity services, including strategic consulting, systems implementation and technical design, to some of the world's largest corporations. Liaison Technologies uses industry standards such as UCCnet, papiNet, CIDX and XML technology to ensure accurate data synchronization.
