Ottawa, Canada -February 2, 2006- PIKA Technologies Inc. today announced that they are on track to providing RoHS compliant boards in Europe, in accordance with the European Union (EU) directive. The legislation refers to the restriction of specific hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

"I'm pleased to report that beginning in June 2006, all analog and digital T1/E1 boards shipped to EU countries will be RoHS 6 or RoHS 5 compliant," stated Bob McKay, Manager of Hardware Design for PIKA Technologies, Inc. "Over the last year, we have been planning for the transition to RoHS compliant products, and therefore we are ready to respond to the needs of the market and our customers, ahead of the July 1st deadline."

After careful review of the legislation and its implications, PIKA conducted a comprehensive inventory of all components used in the manufacturing of their boards to determine the presence of any of the six restricted substances. "The directive includes limits for the use of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBBs and PBDEs. We had to ensure that our manufacturing process reduced or eliminated the use of all these substances," continued McKay.
