For most design applications, you want the materials to the same. This is good for galvanic capatability, CTE match (thermal expansion rates. Stainless 303 is pretty good material selection for many applications. If the material is strong enough and has the right fatique qualities for your particular design, than this is a good choice. I can't think of a good reason to arbitrarily use different materials for the aplication you have described.
