: could some one please give me the torque values for a 3/4" anchor bolt. the bolt will be used to anchor a 3/4" steel plate into concrete. the bolt has an overall length of 7 inches and has a thread length of 4 inches. i need values for a grade 3 and grade 5 bolt. the threads on the bolt are rolled and the bolt is also zinc plated. any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
: thanks...........scott lowe
The maximum torque for a grade 3, 3/4-10 unc is about 230 ft-lbs, but I don't tink you need that. Using Engineers Edge calculator at /torque_calc.htm, if you torque the bolt to 70 ft-lbs you would have about 5600 lbs of clamping force per bolt. This would give you plenty of strength design margin for the bolt. The maximum torque for a grade 5 bolt is 257 ft-lbs.
