: How do I determine what size water meter I need to supply my home? It's a 1600ft run supplying a 5 bedroom 2-1/2 bath house.
Several ways. First way; let the city you live in determine the size (there may be a code size for your size house). Second way; see what size line you have as a service line (size can run from 3/4 inch to 1-1/2 inch for residential). You should be able to get away with 1 inch. Also see what the pressure is at your service connection (typical is 40 to 60 psi). I would think that a 1 inch would give you what you need. Good luck.
