: How do I determine what size water meter I need to supply my home? It's a 1600ft run supplying a 5 bedroom 2-1/2 bath house.
In my city; the water district offers 3/4" & 1". If 1" is selected you'd pay an extra $ a month. Water pressure can be high so you will need a pressure regulator at the house (not at the meter). Check out your local water district as they are in charge of the meter because they are tariff cirtified. Its uncommon for the user to install their own meter as you can understand why. From the meter to the house the size is up to you so you can go up a size, say 1-1/4". If local code allows PVC its cheap insurance aginst excessive pressure drop. Keep elbows to a minimum. Good luck.
