Concrete theory is too complex. I'm an electrical engineer and the solution
I found for the same problem was to purchase a book that included
a user friendly software. Try this one: Standard Handbook of Architectural Engineering
by Robert Brown Butler. It's a practical manual that includes a CD. The author is Mc Graw-Hill.
