Stress areas formulae for standard threads like ACME, UN are given in machinery's handbook. How to calculate the tensile and shear stress areas of non-standard threads.
For example if the thread profile is a non-standard one, having included angle of 5 degrees one side and say 20 degrees other side.
Also how to calculate the make-up torque requirement of such threaded connection. If this threaded bolt has 2 or 3 threaded steps? which formulas are appliacble?
Please let me know.
