Could be ... a stainless steel is one of several
alloys that have chrominum added to their crystaline
structure during the mill process. Anything added
to the steel compound effects it in different ways.
Many things effect the steel in ways you would never
dream they would. Chorme somehow improves the steel's

As to corrosion resistant steel being the same as
stainless, does it contain chrominum? There are many
different stainless steels,... some magnetic, some not, ...
some even rust.. and some do and others do not weld well.
.. some well fracture easy and others have high tensil.

An important hint, ... just because a steel is stainless
does NOT mean it is stronger, makes a good knife edge, or
is a better steel. ... advertisers love to play on the
stainless is better hype.
