I am looking for a machineable, dimensionally stable alternative to Delrin that is softer. I have a flat surface contacting a curved surface of a lens and am trying to have more conformance to reduce localized stress.

UHMW or HDPE
...UHMW being the more dense, tougher, and better wearing.
