I am astudent currently working on a project. Basically I am calculating bending moments on square tubing material. The material has a yield strength of 60000 psi and is a square tube (2"x2") with a wall thickness of 0.105 inches, further it is perforated on all four sides over its length with 7/16" diameter holes on 1" centers. The question I have is: Should the holes be factored in when calculating the section modulus? If so how? Please help!
