I'm not the most knowledgeable of Prog. Die terms. Can one of the experts here explain the following terms used in a die design review. I'm looking for a definition of the following: 1) Gagging (Gaging?)
Thanks in advance for the great advice. |

Gaging is a method of running different portions of a die by choice. There are several ways to do this. Frequently is done by engaging dowels or taper pins or keepers that either disengage or engage the die portion to the moving upper die shoe. Gaging is current tense for gag. I "think" fasets are the portions of a die that coin shapes. Taken from the fasets of a diamond. You may coin a flat horizontal surface and/or different other surfaces adjcent to it. I'm not aware of the terms hook and lagg. The worst suggestion of your lifetime may be the catalyst to the grandest idea of the century, never let suggestions go unsaid nor fail to listen to them. |
