Hi, Can anybody suggest me a book to refer for knowing more about the different types of fasteneres available their basic dimensions , the classes into which they can be categorized and also about other common mechanical parts and components and their types - like - Different fittings, bearings - classifiaction and important dimensions, standars of common components etc..... I recommend the latest edition of Machinery's Handbook (ISBN 0-8311-1200-X) printed by Industrial Press, Inc. It's a great resource to have in your arsenal. It contains info on strength of materials, cams, gearing, fasteners, threads, tool making, dimensioning, machining operations, manufacturing processes, bearings, linkages, etc.   There is a thumb indexed version available too (ISBN 0-0-8311-0900-9).

www.e-bearings/abec.htm is a good source for bearing dimensions as well as other tolerances. also you may check with Bamel fastners on getting reference literature for the other items. hope this helps Modified by Administrator at Fri, Jul 11, 2003, 06:53:16
