Sir, We need the co-efficient of friction value for the following material combinations. 1. Mild steel on Hardened steel(HRC 60) 2. Aluminum on Hardened steel(HRC 60) 3. Brass on Hardened steel(HRC 60) 4.Hardened steel(HRC 58) on Hardened steel(HRC 60) Is there any formula available to find out co-efficient of frictin using Hardness & Surface roughness. Your question is incomplete. Coefficient of fricition is dependant on alot of factors, such as, wet or dry surface, pressure between surfaces, area of contact, static or dynamic contact. In general, coefficient of friction is slightly greater for small pressure on large surface areas than for great pressures on small surface areas. There are formulaes for calculating friction between components such as axles, journals, rolling friction, pivot friction etc...
Hey Kelly, how about design and data maybe evan a calculator or two handing friction? |
