I am a student engineer in DIT, Ireland and am currently working on a medical project. Basically the project is to design a housing for a medical unit to be used in association with MRI scanning.  I am looking for some advice on the best method for such a mould to be created, vacuum moulding, injection moulding, reaction injection moulding. Also could anyone recommend an appropriate plastic which is suitable for the medical industry, the device is to be used in waiting rooms and not theatres?

Regards,

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

This is Raghavendra Bhagawan here from India.

Basically I'm a Plastics Engineer & i'm working as Officer-Engineering in a Electro Mechanical Manufacturing company,

We do Assemble Ultra Sound Scanners for one of the Best Known Companies in the world.

But i can't reveal my customer.

I suggest you can go for the Injection Molding method to produce the Housing,

And the Material Which i Suggest is ABS with some percent of Glass Fillers in it.

In this you may have give a good intrest in controlling the EMC & ESD in this regard.

Pls do write back to me if u still need any more suggestions.

Regards,

Bhagawan.
