we currently use loctite 5900 to bond a polycarbonate disc into a brass housing. the unit is filled with a light mineral oil type mix (shellsol T and shellsol D) we have found over a year the Loctite become spongy and the unit leaks. Does anyone know a way of bonding polycarbonate (6mm) to a brass housing??? steven shannon |

Have you tried fiberglass epoxy? My thinking is if you are "inside a housing" it could force a trap. My second idea is fiberglass epoxy to the brass and (sorry if I "mispell" this) PlastiTec, ... I think a 3M product but it may be a Loctite product. You can get a small amount on the shelf at your local home improvement store. It is a small tube and tiny glass bottle of primer/cleaner. My experience is PlastiTec will fasten ANY plastic to any plastic... poloy & fiberglass epoxy/resin are plastic enough. Next choice, ... the new breed of auto refinishers paint with poly products. They have mixtures that stick to most anything. Some auto parts are now poly. I think the brass may require a pickle process. I'm betting on a fuel proof combo there somewhere. ...hope I at least tickle an idea,...
