Hi,
I'm looking for a formula that will predict the axial force required to make a C-ring jump from a groove on a shaft. The variables I would expect would be: 1.OD and ID of C-ring 2.Length of ring 3.depth of groove 4.angle of the sides of the groove and mating edges of the ring. The ring will be of 4140 26-36 Rc steel. Thanks,
|

Good question. I assume you are talking about a retainer ring. If so, go to the manufacturer, They should have this. |
