Hello, Is there anybody there that could help me look for a better solution w/ regards to my requirement? I'm testing an IC, which was used to be 60/40 Tin Lead plated and now we move to 100%tin. Currently, we're using Gold-plated Contact Fingers to test devices. The tips of these contact fingers are easily accumulated by dirt when we started testing 100% tin plated devices. Is 100% tin softer than a 60/40 tin-lead? I want to propose to my supplier to change the plating of the contact finger and I'm researching what would that new material be? Any info you will provide will be highly appreciated. Thank you very much! Azzed |

Hi Azzed, I new to this forum and happen to read your posting.
It depend on which type of leadfree you are running (Matt Tin, PPF, Pure Tin, etc). And also depending on how your contactor actuate. Gold is too soft for most Tin plated lead. Do drop me an email and perhaps we can chat from there. rgds,
