I am desinging a shaft and bushing combination. THe shaft will have a medium load with low rpm and occasional use. THe bushing will not be lubricated. I am curious about the surface roughness specs for the shaft and bearings as well as the dimsional tolerances for the shaft and bearing. Thanks |

This depends on the actual load, surface area, material and operating environment. Typically, you will see a surface roughness 8 Ra or better for contact surfaces which are bronze. Go to SKF, or other bearing manufacturers and research for a simular bushing. See what they use. Report back! |
