Does anyone know the formula for calculating running torque of a screw/bolt with self locking nut? |

I do not beleive that there is a "Formula" for calculating the actual torque required, however there is a procedure. First determine the desired torque for your application. While torquing the screw / nut, measure the torque required to turn the screw onto the nut only, call this the "friction torque". Your actual torque for the screw / locking nut is equal to the desired torque plus the friction torque. |
