hello everyone! i'm a final year mechanical engineering student at the university of the west indies and i'm doing a research project on the mechanical properties of HDPE pipe welds. i've searched quite a while for the ASTM standard test that i should follow but i can't find it! specifically, i'm lookong for a tensile test for a butt/socket/electrofusion/extrusion welded HDPE pipe using a tensometer. at this point, i'm willing to bet that the standard test i'm looking for does not exist. someone please prove me wrong!! does anyone know of a test i can use? your help is greatly appriciated! thanx!! |

I would suggest looking at this website for Driscopipe (made by Chevron Phillips) (polyethylene pipe). www .cpchem .com/docs/ PP3028100.pdf If you don't find the info here, the catalogue for this product is extensive and is easily attained. You may even be able to print if off of the internet. I remember that this cataloge had a ton of information and calculations on the pipe. If you can't find the info in the catalogue, contact an engineer at the company and I'm sure they would know the info or know someone else who knows. Good luck.
