Besides the price, what are pros and cons in comparison with steel-ones?

Appreciate the help. Val.

A little bit from a long time ago. My exposure to titanium springs came from work on mechanical flight controls components for an aerospace company. They were used in that application because (a) they were lighter than comparable steel springs. In this case, comparable meant that they could store the same amount of energy. The primary, HUGE, concern with the titanium springs was the notch sensitivity of titanium. Meaning, if the spring was scratched it would quickly develop a crack. So they springs were double shot-peened after forming to help keep this from happening. As I remember, they were also handled with lots of TLC in the shop, since they were very expensive.
