friend some problem in your question . camprofile incylinders are needed to operate inlet and exuast valves . in what reference you are asking for piston rings ? please clarify a bit more |

Pistons are no longer round they are elliptical shaped to provide a round shape when up to operating temp.
This allows the direction with the rod boss to match the other 90° direction at run time. The skirt has other thermodynamic properties to effect it before and at operating temperature. FYI.. this why it is no longer correct to warm up you auto engine slowly, get in it and drive and get past the warm up as quickly as possible... this gets past the "doesn't fit" time where the most damage happens in piston/ring/cylinder wall fit tolerances sooner. Now for the rings... thinking out loud... and also wanting to know why and if they are cam shaped..... I'd guess the following... if I may....and it IS a guess..for conversation & discussion.
