Hey everybody.. i have a school assignment which requires that we construct a sign gantry out of balsawood to support a weight, 400mm high and 400mm horizontally. the balsa wood provided is 8mm thick and we also have 3mm balsawood. they supply us with balsawood cement and 150mmx150mm ply for the base. it seems pretty straight forward but i am unsure about which techniques to use when designing to maintain rigidity and strenth. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
