Your thread count or number of threads on your set screw is determined by the thread call-out and length of your set screw. For example if you have a .250-20 set screw, you have 20 threads per inch, if your thread length of your set screw is 1/2" you have 10 threads on your set screw (this is a thread length without corner breaks). I believe this is what you were asking????

Hi Rowzee, Thanks for the reply, so if I have a given torque requirement to fasten a wire using the setscrew. How do I calculate the tread length required on the setscrew? thanks,

a rule of thumb the thread lenght shall be the screw diameter at least
