I'd like to know if a 14" standard wall pipe (.375) @ 9' in length, with 1/2" x 4 flat bar stiffeners welded at 90-degrees apart along its circumference throughout its entire length will support 150,000 pounds. This pipe will have a 1" base-plate with a dimension of 24" x 24" anchored into 8" thick concrete.

Should be fine, with a factor of safety over 3. To check your concrete, you'll need to get a good structural/geotechnical guy to make sure the slab is OK considering the type of soil that it's on. |

I'm quite certain of the geological properties of this site is more than adequate. We had an extremely difficult time excavating (prior to the concrete pour) because the site lies on a large formation of limestone. Backfilling and compacting proved to be almost effortless. Thanks for your assistance! |
