Sure, as we creat the design, we need to track the part numbers. We need to release the parts to production, make changes, track expenses, etc.

are you looking for something that generates bom and produces material planning charts? most 3D CAD (that i have used) will auto-generate bom. What software are you planning to use for design?

We will be using Pro/ENGINEER, so the BOM will be automatic. It is the rest of the "system" that I am looking for. I will be using an intellegent numbering system.
