Plain carbon steels have better machinability than alloy steels of he same hardness and carbon content… Why is that? |

Alloy steels having alloying elements which forms the carbites with carbon. So this carbites have hard structures which is the obstracals to machinging.Therefore material has like combination of hard & soft region in microstructures.
Because of this we get iterupted machining. On the other hand plain carbon sttel have no such hard carbites in the microstructure so we get high machinability. |

Alloys with nickle, chrome, and copper tend to get retain of their nasty cutting trates, things like gumminess and abrasiveness. The worst suggestion of your lifetime may be the catalyst to the grandest idea of the century, never let suggestions go unsaid nor fail to listen to them. |
