Dear all,

I am an Electrical Engineer and very new to this engineering forum.

I am working on a Gas power project. I want your design assistance for the exhaust pipe line design.

Details of Engine are given below.
This is a Cummins Engine : model: QSV91G
Engine rating: 1760kW, Fuel: Natural Gas
Max Exhaust back pressure: 500 mm WG.
Exhaust gas flow rate: 2.82kg/sec
This engine has got 2 Exhaust outlets of 250MM diameter each.
Manufacturer is supplying exhaust silencer.
I want to know how long I can take the exhaust pipe line. This is because, I want to use the exising civil foundation ( meant for a Diesel Generator). I have a distance of 7200 mm from the
end flange of the new silencer to the wall of the Generator building. The outlet side of the silencer is having a nominal bore of 350mm. Can I extend a pipe line of 350mm bore till the outside of the Generator building ( 7200mm long)? Kindly assist and advise. I heard that there is a long calculation.

thanks

best regards

prakash.
