I have a process that requires rollers to be coated with paste. The paste runs down the journals and into the bearings where it causes failure (roller bearings, not journal bearings). The rollers are only spinning at 500rpm. Seals and shields have been tried to little effect. I am considering bearing isolators, but I am worried that they will become gummed up when the rollers are at rest. I am also looking at rotary shaft seals and slingers. If any of you have dealt with similar problems, any advice or guidance will be appreciated.
