Can you be a little more descriptive?

What is your shaft spinning in/on? Are there any bearings? Is there any lubricant? What kind of material are you working with?

Friction Force = (Normal Force) x (Coefficient of Friction)

As far as wear goes, that can be caused by several things. Material properties, frictional forces, angular velocity and maybe a few more can play a role.

Give us a little more detail on what you are wanting.
