I am currently looking at snap fits for a plastic encloser, that contains an AC mains power supply. This is a safety related item so i have some concerns on the robustness of the snap.
I have looked through the net trying to find some industrial or safety standard that will give some info on 'how to ensure the design will be safe enough'. Drop test and pull tests are fairly standard by i have not seen anything to provide how to test. If anyone know of some papaer or standard that will give me some more info on how to make sure the snap fit design is strong enough and will be safe enough. Mitchell |

Plastic snap fit designs are an interesting exercise. "The First Snap-Fit Handbook: Creating Attachments for Plastics Parts"
Good luck. |
