Screw jack for an automobile. about 300mm I need to lift the automile. I assume the automobile 1500kg. an by hand ı lift.

How can I assume the load appiled on it. And how can I make the design. ı am a mechanical engineering student and this is my project in mech. element study.

Thank you for information you gave. I have the book of Shigley. but ı need more information. and an exaple. I have to see one example. BBecause I have no idea about preparing an proje.

At that book there is a sample :
i have a spanish translation it is at the chapter 3 problem 51
But to start a project you need all the data I ask you.

The screw jack design could be the screw to be tractioned , or compressed.
So make the data.

1.- state the load
2.- the min height
3.- the max height
4.- way of operation , by hand , motor
5.- if by hand, mean of operation
6.- if by motor , wich power
7.- time to rise the load.
and so on
then look for on the shelf that suit the spec , and see how it is made , then understand each part action.

Then grab the books and start.
