I have picked up a design late in the project and found a mis-match in the module used on one of the gears. The drive and pinion gears are both .8333 module but the idler gear is a .7953 module. This is a low speed application with a fairly loose fitting gear set. Will this be an issue to leave the idler as is or would I see a dramatic change by revising the idler to match? |

a little bit more info would help to solve your problem, i take it that the info is on a drawing and that all the relevent details are stated, such as teeth, pcd,od and centre's,if the module is stated as the pitch then you cannot run gears together of different pitchs, if the module is stated as the addendum then it could be that you simply have a corrected idler. |
