Hi, I hope that some one here can help me. I have to repair an equalising beam for the draw works which is a forged steel. I am to build up on the base material in the location where there has been wear and then machine it down to specification. I have look on the net and in some book for any information as to how it should be treated in terms of heat and the welding process. I have found information on cast but not for forged items. So if you can direct me or provide any assistance it would be gladly appreciated.
