I am trying to stamp a type of flat spring out of copper/copper alloy to be used as a grounding wire. Can anyone tell me what type of copper/copper alloy would be best and cheapest to use? Obviously it will have to be stampable and have a spring like hardness with good conductivity and it will require around 100K cycles. Thanks |

I'm stamping about 350K per year. Its not too large, total size is about 2" long by 1" wide. Thanks for all your help! Tommy |

You want a spring and a conductor - I would look hard at copper-beryllium. Copper Beryllium is used extensively for electrical - spring type components, the strength, formability, elastic modulus is very good for the this application. You can even weld to this material. How many, and how large is your component/part? |
