I am trying to stamp a type of flat spring out of copper/copper alloy to be used as a grounding wire. Can anyone tell me what type of copper/copper alloy would be best and cheapest to use? Obviously it will have to be stampable and have a spring like hardness with good conductivity and it will require around 100K cycles. Thanks

I'm stamping about 350K per year. Its not too large, total size is about 2" long by 1" wide.

Thanks for all your help!

Tommy

You want a spring and a conductor - I would look hard at copper-beryllium.

Copper Beryllium is used extensively for electrical - spring type components, the strength, formability, elastic modulus is very good for the this application. You can even weld to this material.

How many, and how large is your component/part?
