HI Freinds.
PLease Guide me. i want to join a rotor to a shaft. i want do this accurately becouse my system must work accurately. please help me (explain the procedure)and introduce reffrences. another problem is the expansion coefficient. rotor is made of AL6061 and shaft is made of steel. is there problem when they are in hot environment? if yes, how can solve this problem? thanx ...edited in by randykimball, as moderator:

rotor diameter: 15 centimeter Al6061-T4 shaft diamiter: 0.6 centimeter Steel working thermal range: -20 to 50 degree C Angular velocity: 2000 RPM Thanx. |

................... It is rude to call others foolish. We will not allow such comments on this fourm. It is against the rules each and every user is required to have read. I will allow your question to remain because I do not believe you realize how rude it is to call someone foolish in English. The reason I ask you "how big" was to prompt you to supply information as to the size of the shaft, rotor mass, at what RPM the shaft will rotate, and at what thermal extremes it will operate in. These things are necessary in order to properly evaluate the thermal and other properties that will effect the project, not to mention the fact that you ask for it to be explained to you. All that data would be required to give you any kind of explaination that would be true to or fit into your operating envelope. Instead of providing the additional information you have responded with "my foolish friend".... this is no way to encourage any or the hundreds of engineers that viewed your question and failed to find enough information to answer, to come back and offer you free assistance during their valuable time. I seriously doubt that the large number of engineers that viewed your question and didn't understand or see enough data are all foolish. In fact most of the engineers that read your question may have reacted the same way I did, my thoughts were that you most likely do not have the skills required to be designing this project or you would at least know what information to provide in the question. This is why I responded with "how big?". Indeed, at that point you reinforced my doubts when you came back without the data, but with an insult. If you are a wise person you will understand that it must be the question which is not clear or complete enough. However, you have every right to ask the question, and if you provide the information, I encourage someone to answer. Someone will most likely answer at my request to show the fine ethics that good quality engineers share, reguardless of the insult.
In the future, calling some one foolish will get your question deleted on the spot. Repeated occurances will get you banded from the web site.
